Leading the procession is Ashikaga Shogun. Until a little over 20 years ago, Jidai Festival did not have a Muromachi Era procession itself because of the dislike of Ashikaga Takauji, who ousted Emperor Godaigo.

The two-hour-long Jidai Festivsl's Procession is tiring to watch, but is informative if think of it as a show of Kyoto's and Japan's history. The procession is very interesting because it clearly shows the likes and dislikes of Southern Court imperial Family.
