のどかな雰囲気の山門から入る。

Went to Kajuji Temple in Yamashina.  Its official name was Kikkosan Kajuji Temple.  The head temple of the Yamashina sect of Shingon Buddhism.  The temple was a Monzeki temple associated with the imperial family and the Fujiwara clan.

It was built in 900 by Emperor Daigo (60th) to mourn the loss of his mother, Fujiwara no Inshi/Taneko, who was the empress of his father, Emperor Uda (59th).

Himuroike Pond and wisteria trellis (purple).  In spring season at Kajuji Temple, known as a temple of flowers, the cherry blossoms were on the waning stage and the white and purple wisteria flowers were in full bloom, and the air was filled with a good smell.  From now on, hydrangeas and irises would be in full bloom.

Kajuji Temple was a beautiful temple with a lush greenery garden surrounded by Mt. Inari or Mt. Daigo as the background for the landscaping of the garden, but compared to other temples, its website was not well developed and its history and attractions wasn't well communicated.  The area around Himuroike Pond wasn't well maintained and was off-limits.
