In the afternoon, went to Tofukuji Temple, a famous place for viewing autumn leaves. Officially Enichisan Tofukuji Temple and the head temple of the Tofukuji sect of the Rinzai Buddhism.
The name "Tofukuji" was derived from the characters "To" in Todaiji Temple and "Fuku" in Kofukuji Temple, both were super powers in Nara at that time. It was a bizarre name. First, went to Gaunkyo Bridge.
View of Tsutenkyo Bridge and autumn leaves from Gaunkyo Bridge. There used to be many cherry trees at Tofukuji Temple, but the monk Mincho conveyed his concern to the Shogun Ashikaga Yoshimochi that when the cherry trees bloomed, people got too happy and the temple became a place for entertainment. Yoshimochi was so impressed and cut down all the cherry trees and planted momiji trees instead. Hard to comment on this.

Tentokuin Temple, a satellite temple of Tofukuji Temple. Officially, Banshozan Tentokuin. Seikan, a priest of Nanzenji Temple who lived in Tentokuin and was loved by the Toyotomi family, created the inscription "Kokka Anko (national peace)" on the bell of Hokoji Temple, hoping for the prosperity of the Toyotomi family, which led to the downfall of the Toyotomi family. Tentokuin was demolished and rebuilt later in the Meiji era. At the time, Konchiin Suden, a rival of the brilliant Seikan and an advisor to the Tokugawa family, was also at Nanzenji and saw through Seikan's intention.
From Nakamon Gate. Tofukuji Temple was not a relaxing place to visit during the season of autumn leaves because of its crowdedness and the shortage of parking spaces in the vicinity.
In the evening, went to "Shofukutei", a long-established soba restaurant in Rokujo Shinmachi. It is near the house, so often stop by there. The restaurant was always crowded with local people.
Oyakodon and udon.
Tamagodon and Chasoba. Tamagodon, egg rice bowl, in Kyoto was really delicious and juicy. Wish there was a restaurant like this nearby. Thank you for the meal.
