今日は札幌すすきの、大通り界隈をタウンウォーク。寒くなるといつでも地下に入れるので散歩しやすい。

さて、久々に中華が食べたい気分。札幌グランドホテル2階の中華レストラン「黄鶴(こうかく)」へ。ラッキーなことにランチLOの5分前に駆け込みセーフ。

Today's town walk was a stroll through the Susukino and Odori area of Sapporo.  Even when got cold, easy to take a walk as always could go underground.
It's been a while since had Chinese food.  Went to the Chinese restaurant "Kokaku" on the second floor of Sapporo Grand Hotel.  Lucky enough to rush in five minutes before the end of lunch time.

いつも頂いている白金や京都の都ホテルの「四川」のランチをイメージし「黄鶴ランチ」を頂いてみる。

Tried "Kokaku Lunch" by imaging the "Szechuan" lunches usually had at Miyako Hotel in Shirogane or Kyoto.

メインは、酢豚と回鍋肉を選ぶ。

For the main dishes, chose sweet-and-sour pork and twice cooked pork.

デザートは杏仁豆腐。サービスも良く、お得で満足なホテルランチだった。

Dessert was almond jelly.  The service was good, and it was a satisfying hotel lunch at a good price.

散歩の帰りにホテル一階スイーツショップで、マリトッツォを購入。時間が遅くなるとフードロスプロジェクトとして値引きされる。食料自給率が低い日本では大切な取組みだ。

On the way home from the walk, bought a Maritozzo at the sweet shop on the first floor of the hotel.  When it's late, they offer a discount as part of Food Loss Project.  This was an important initiative in the country, as its food self-sufficiency was low.

夏は洋梨だったが、今はマロンの季節限定マリトッツォ。クリームが上品で美味。

In the summer, it was pears, but now it's marron, the seasonal Marituzzo.  The cream was elegant and delicious.

帰りに家の近所の八百屋さんの前を通りかかる。野菜が外まで積み上げられている。

Near the home, pass by a grocery store near the house.  The vegetables were piled up to the outside.

札幌にはこのような八百屋さんが多い。どういう人が買うのか、積んである野菜のパックが大きい。積んである大きなキャベツも直径50センチ近い大玉。誰が食べるのだろう。

Sapporo has many grocery stores like this.  Wondered what kind of people buy these vegetables in such large packs.  Furthermore large cabbages piled outside were nearly 50 cm in diameter.  Wondered who would eat it.

散歩中に通りかかった酒屋さん、登久屋中村商店。何となく気になり入ってみたら、案の定日本酒の取り扱いが豊富。北海道の酒は置かないという店主のこだわりが面白く、話して勉強になる。

Passed by a liquor store, Tokuya Nakamura Shoten, while taking a walk.  Became curious about it, so went in and found a wide selection of sake.  The shop owner's insistence on not having sake from Hokkaido was interesting and learned a lot from talking to him.

筋の通った店主にお勧めされた山形「千代寿」の生原酒、酒造は千代寿虎屋。ひやおろしは火入れされるが、こちらは生。店主が言う通り、春の生原酒がビン内で熟成が進み美味しかった。

The owner of the store, with a good sense of humor, recommended a "Chiyokotobuki" fresh sake, brewed by Chiyokotobuki Toraya in Yamagata.  The Hiyaoroshi sake is once cooked, but this one was fresh and raw.  As the owner said, a fresh sake brewed in spring matured in the bottle in summer was delicious.
