Resumed short time living in Sapporo for some businesses. Had an Ikura (salmon roe)-don bowl at New Chitose Airport. Hokkaido is a place for seafood.
Kaisen-don too. Seemed a trend to add egg on top of seafood bowls recently. Both were delicious.
There were only a few customers because of Covid, but the airport building was still full of restaurants. It's a tough business that depends on people moving around, but hope they can hold on a little longer.
The morning of the first day in Hokkaido, the weather was fresh and no humid, just like in the northern country. Had breakfast on the balcony with a view of Mt. Moiwa.
The summer in north is short and was over. Already autumn in the sky.
In the afternoon, went to "OcciGabi Winery" in Yoichi.
It was almost harvest time.
"Le Reve Winery" was next door.
It had a shop and a cafe, but was closed during the busy season for harvesting.
Yoichi is a fruit production area, and there are various direct sales stores. Bought some peaches and prunes at a store along Route 5.
Came back home and took the time with a glass of Vin Blanc from OcciGabi Winery. This white wine was a well-balanced blend of Chardonnay, Muller Thurgau and Kerner with a pleasant acidity. It was perfect for enjoying a long autumn evening.
