In the Heian period (794-1185), Rokujo-oji, was lined with the mansions of aristocrats, but was devastated by the Onin War.  It was later redeveloped when Toyotomi Hideyoshi remodeled Rakuchu.  It was called Uontana Dori because the fish market was built in the Edo period.  The Rokujo Dori shopping street is a remnant of the Uontana Dori.  It is already dusk in Kyoto.
