暮なずむ旭川の平和通り買い物公園。週末だが人はまばら。

Asahikawa's Heiwa-dori Shopping Park at sunset.  It was the weekend, but not many people were around.

今宵は、旭川の名居酒屋「独酌三四郎」へ。

Tonight, revisited a famous Izakaya in Asahikawa, "Dokushaku Sanshiro".

お酒のメニュー。旭川の酒蔵「高砂酒造(国士無双)」、「山崎酒造(男山)」、「大雪の蔵」を全て頂くことに。

Sake menu.  Decided to try all the sake breweries in Asahikawa, "Takasago Shuzo (Kokushimuso)", "Yamazaki Shuzo (Otokoyama)", and "Daisetsu no Kura".

お酒の肴にぴったり一品料理。

まず頂くお通しは、女将お手製の名物、酢大豆。甘味のある帯広産の大豆にこだわり、ちょうど良い歯応え。風味づけの大葉がほんのりと効いていてお箸が止まらない。

まずは男山の生酛純米酒を合わせる。北海道の日本酒のレベルは上がってきている。

The first dish served was the lady owner's homemade specialty, vinegared soybeans.  It is made from sweet Obihiro soybeans with just the right amount of crunch.  The soybeans are made from sweet Obihiro soybeans and have just the right amount of crunchiness, with a hint of shiso (basil) leaves to add flavor.  Started with Otokoyama sake.  The quality of sakes in Hokkaido is getting better in these days.

ポテトサラダ。日本のポテトサラダ、万歳。

こちらはニシン漬け。

鯖の塩焼き。焼き加減が最高でふっくらジューシーでかつ香ばしい。

Grilled mackerel with salt.  It was grilled to perfection, plump, juicy and fragrant.

女将の季節の盆。色々あって楽しめる。

The owner lady's seasonal tray.  Can enjoy a variety of dishes.

以前も頂きファンになった、旭川名物の新子焼き。若鳥を秘伝の甘辛いタレで頂く。他のお店のものも頂いたが、ここの新子焼きが一番好き。

Asahikawa's specialty, shinko-yaki (young chicken barbecue), which had before and have become a fan of.  The young chicken is served with secret sweet and spicy sauce.  Have had it at other restaurants, but this one here is the favorite.

タレご飯。秘伝のタレが、ご飯にしっかり絡みお酒のあてにも〆にも両方良い。

Rice with the Shinko-yaki sauce.  The secret sauce was well mixed in with the rice and it was good both as a side dish with sake and as a finishing dinner.
