In the afternoon, we went to Lanikai Beach. On days when the weather is unstable and there are strong winds, Kailua-Lanikai is often cloudy or rainy even though Waikiki is sunny. This is the best place to go if you don't want to get sunburned or if you are worried about skin cancer. Kailua-Lanikai, named after the Hawaiian words "Lani" (heaven) and "Kai" (sea), is a beautiful beach with emerald green waters and pure white sands, and became famous when it was recognized as the number one beach in the U.S. in 1996. There are no showers or toilets, so there are few tourists, and time flows slowly on this "heavenly beach. Mokulua Island, two twin islands floating offshore, is a nature preserve with wild bird nests. On the right is Moku Iki, and on the left is Moku Nui.
The direction of Kailua Beach. There continues a beautiful long beach here too.
The Lanikai area is now an upscale residential area, and apparently remote workers from the US mainland are moving there.
After sunset, returned to Waikiki.
As having a happy news today, enjoyed Terre dei Buth Frizzante Rosé from Procecco, a DOC from the Veneto region of Italy. Frizzante is an Italian sparkling wine that is weakly effervescent (1 to 2.5 bars of gas pressure). The Frizzante Rosé is obtained from a blend of Glera and Raboso grapes. It encloses the freshness of Glera grapes and the hints of red fruit coming from the Raboso grapes. It pairs well with pasta, pizza, and summer salads.
Baby spinach salad with Parmigiano cheese. The usual salad.
Made a chicken cachatola, which is often made in Japan.
This is the recipe this time. Used the recipe from the previous TV program "Tubo Desuyo" with the addition of celery for flavor.
After the rosé sparkling, the next wines were the Pinot Noir (red) and Cabernet Sauvignon (red) from Decoy. Displaying the lushness and balance that define great Cabernet Sauvignon, this inviting wine features layers of blackberry, black cherry and blueberry, along with notes of dark chocolate and fresh spearmint. On the palate, the bright, juicy fruit flavors are framed by rich, refined tannins that carry the wine to a long, satisfying finish. Blend: 78% Cabernet Sauvignon, 13% Merlot, 4% Zinfandel, 2% Petite Sirah, 2% Syrah, 1% Petit Verdot
