札幌最終日は晴天だが、気温は低く近くを流れる小さな川は凍結している。

The last day in Sapporo was sunny, but the temperature was low and the small river running nearby was frozen.

中島公園の池も凍結し、池の水面にはキツネとカモらしき足跡が点々🐾とあり、微笑ましい。

The pond in the park was also frozen, and there were fox and duck-like footprints on the surface of the pond 🐾, very lovely.

伊丹空港(ITM)へ向かう。新千歳空港の出発ロビーは、報道にあるように年末の旅行自粛の影響で空いている。。

。。と思ったら、格安航空のPエアのチェックインカウンター前には若年層が大行列をつくり、ソーシャルディスタンスなど全く無い。ソーシャルディスタンスを気にする層としない層は二分化し、気にしない方々は格安航空で移動しているのが世の中の実態のようだ。経済とコロナ対策のバランスを取るために何をすれば良いかはこれで分かる。

.. Then saw a huge line of young people waiting in front of the check-in counters of low cost carriers, P airlines, and there was no social distancing at all.  The reality of this country seems that there is a divide between those who care about social distancing and those who don't, and those who don't care keep traveling on low cost carriers.  This tells what we need to do for balancing the economy and counter coronavirus  measures.

札幌以北は雪だが、新千歳空港にはあまり雪が積もらない。

It snowed north of Sapporo, but there was not match snow at New Chitose Airport.

松阪の上空。向こうに見えるのは伊勢。今回年末年始には行けないが、来年春には伊勢神宮に行こう。

In the sky over Matsuzaka.  Over there was Ise.  Won't be able to go there at the end and beginning of the year, but next year would go to Ise Grand Shrine in spring.

伊丹空港に到着、京都に。早速、蛸薬師通と新京極の「割烹鮹八」へ。ふと見上げると東の空に月が浮かぶ。小望月。

Arrived at Itami Airport and headed to Kyoto.  Immediately went to "Kappo Takohachi" at Takoyakushi Street and Shinkyogoku.  Looked up and saw the moon in the eastern sky.  Previous-night-to-the-full-moon

鮹八の冬のメニュー。

お通しの合物。合わせるお酒は「まつもと」。

The appetizer.  Sake to go with it was "Matsumoto".

きずし。毎回これは外せない。

Kizush, marinated mackerel.  Can't miss it every time.

小芋空揚。外側はパリッとし中はとろっとしている。これも外せない。

Fried small potato.  The outside was crispy and the inside was soft as it was preboied in soup stock.  Can't miss it.

くも子の焼き。一度湯引きしてから焼く上品でとろけるような食感の白子。たっぷりの葱が乗り、柑橘が効いた美味しいポン酢で頂く。

Baked Kumoko, cod milt.  It was elegant and melt-in-the-mouth as it was baked after preboiled in hot water. It was served with plenty of scallions and delicious citrus flavored sauce.

モロコの焼き。冬の琵琶湖の子持ちモロコは絶品。

Baked moroko, willow gudgeon fish.  The baby moroko of Lake Biwa in winter was excellent.

あん肝は甘く、フォアグラのような濃厚な味わい。

Ankimo, monkfish liver, was sweet and had a rich taste like foie gras.

かしわの唐揚げに、丁寧に湯むきしたトマト。柔らかく鶏肉の旨味が伝わる一品。くどくなく、完食。ザンギとは別物。

Deep-fried kashiwa (west Japan's name of chicken) with carefully peeled tomatoes.  The fry was tender and had the sweet chicken flavor.  It's not oily, and ate up all.  Quite different from Zangi in Sapporo.

今晩も鮹八は満席。同じ料理でも他と下ごしらえと味付けの違いが明らか。これが大勢の人が集まる理由。

Kappo Takohachi was crowded or even packed.  Even the same dishes were well prepared and seasoned and different from others.  This is why so many people come here.
